snickfic . First lines of fics. I'm only posting the first lines this week and will do the last lines next week, just so I can include The Oracles on the Delphi Express for that one too. I'm also only posting fics written since last time.
Once upon a time, there was a boy named Loki. (Two for Joy)
If the city at the end of the train line had ever had a name, it had been before the war and no one living remembered it. (We built this city on rock 'n' roll)
The first time Wanda meets the Winter Soldier, she doesn't know his name. (Experiment in red)
Who are you here for? (The Uncertainty Principle)
They're two-thirds of the way to fixing the mess Kang's made of the timestream when Cassandra says, "I don't want to die." (The Nameless City)
The light was far too bright when Kavita Rao woke up and her flesh felt weird, like her bones didn't fit inside her skin. (Twelve Days of Mad Science)
Sophia keeps her last name of Mayerling when she enlists in the Prussian army, but takes Lübeck's first name -- famous, infamous, the woman corporal August Lübeck -- for luck she tells herself, in case Augustus is ever seen through. (Five moments in the life of Augustus Mayerling)
The fundamentalists tell Paladin she's a conduit for the Divine. (A Terrible Weakness)
[Begin tape.] (Seas Would Rise)
Hannibal had asked to speak with him and so Scipio, who had been waiting for this for a very long time, had said yes and so here they were. (Fulmina Belli)
The girl pretending to be a statue was wearing green body paint the precise shade of the Oracle's smoke and Annabeth most resolutely did not take either that or the fact that her dress looked like it belonged to the Oracle too as an omen. (The Oracles on the Delphi Express)
And one fic, not on Ao3:
When Wanda is nine minutes old, her brother is born. (I will never grow old)
Speaking of The Oracles on the Delphi Express! I posted the chapter-before-last today, in which Thalia Grace shows up and THINGS ESCALATE QUICKLY at the end there.
